Have you ever felt pride in your country's past and how does it shape your view on its future?

I am not a native US citizen so to take pride in another persons deeds feel quite selfish, I do believe though there is plenty to be proud about in Americans history that many native born Americans do not seem to comprehend, of course it is no surprise since the average American is exceedingly historically inept I guess it does come with the cost of a decedent society though.

I guess not so much because our country has failed us numerous of times.

I feel pride in our country's growth from the past to the present and for the growth moving onto the future
