As someone who has never found himself in legal trouble it was a real surprise to me during my divorce trial. Personal bias of the judge, rather than objective based reasoning, was the order of the day. My lawyer had prepared me for it. I had no idea it was like that, where judges could advocate for their own personal political agendas. I read more and more about this type of thing now. Has it always been this way? I've really underestimated the roles judges play in society. That is a lot of power for one person. Do they just do their own thing until it gets so bad?

Guy has been a judge since 2010. Appointed by Cheif Judge Lee Satterfield who was appointed by Bush in 1992. The current Chief, Judge Josey-Herring, was appointed in 2020 by the Trump Administration.
